Fashioning a Brighter Future From a Fractured Past

A decades-long employer exodus in Providence drained a once-vibrant manufacturing community. This was only exacerbated by infrastructure developments that divided and racially relegated communities.

For Providence and the State of Rhode Island alike, the current, ongoing revitalization of the Jewelry District represents the evolution of the region’s economy. Our 150 Richmond project presents a significant economic development opportunity while advancing the state’s critical public health goals.

The project is an expedient, complementing business and government investments since the early 2000s while increasing opportunities for community growth and activity. Brown University has committed to pre-leasing space for its innovation and commercialization initiatives, including Brown’s medical, public health, and applied sciences programs.

Once completed, the development will feature the State Public Health Lab and life sciences building, serving as an anchor and catalyst for the nascent but growing innovation market in Providence. Currently in development, this project will open in 2025.
